Anthurium are native to the Americas’ tropical and semi tropical climates from Mexico to central South America. The plants normally bloom in late spring to summer and the flowers may last for months. Anthurium have adapted to life on the forest floor, where they thrive in filtered sunlight and rich, moist forest soil. These forest conditions are easily recreated in the home or office with these simple guidelines:

WATER: Keep plants moist only allowing to dry slightly during non-growing, cooler months. Do not allow any standing water.

LIGHT: Bright artificial light indoors or near a window with indirect sunlight.

TEMPERATURE: 65-80F. Just like orchids and bromeliads. Anthuriums do not like cold but will tolerate temperatures above 80 occasionally.

FERTILIZER: Apply a balanced houseplant food at 1/2 strength every 2-3 weeks during the growing months.
